According to this mornings news Garda believe the shooting was as a result of a feud within the Moldovan community. Both men were carrying guns but the victims gun may have locked.

What strikes me is this: Its bad enough that the drug gangs are carrying guns but now randomers in our immigrant communities are also packing deadly weapons. For all you or I know, the guy in the car ahead of us at the traffic lights has a pipe bomb in the boot. Perhaps our neighbour has an AK47 at the ready inside his hall door. We now live in a country where a gun subculture exists, life is less safe and any one of us could fall foul of someone who has a weapon and is prepared to use it.
