So Obama has taken the protectionist bull by the horns! And why wouldnt he? Globalisation is all very well but only once you've fed and watered your own people.
Its a bit of a kick in the teeth to the Fianna Fail policy of dependence on attracting US multinationals to feed and water the Irish electorate. Well fair play to the USA I say. Look after your own!
Yesterday I drove from Dublin to Killarney. What a jewel of a country we live in. Lush green fields at every turn. Enough land to produce food and clothes for the people of this country with enough to spare for exports.

We Irish have allowed our own back yard to go unused. Europe is paying us to remain unproductive. In my view, Obama is doing us a favour.
